NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how to back up data on the LG V20.

Restore Apps:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & reset”
  4. Tap “Restore from backup” under “LG Backup”
  5. Locate and select the desired backup
  6. Tap “Start”
  7. Wait for the restore to complete and tap “Done”. NOTE: you will be required to reboot your phone

Restore Contacts:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Tap “Backup & reset” in the “General” tab
  3. Under “LG Backup”, tap “Restore from backup”
  4. Select the desired SD card backup
  5. Tap “Start” and once the process is complete, tap “Done”. NOTE: You will be required to reboot your phone

Restore Media Files From the Phone:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “Backup & reset” in the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Restore from backup” under “LG Backup”
  4. Select the desired media backup and tap “Start”
  5. After the process completes, tap “Restart” and wait for the device to reboot

Restore Media Files from the PC:

  1. Connect the LG V20 to your computer via USB
  2. When prompted (or from the “Notification” area), enable “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media sync (MPT)”
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Navigate to the desired backup files on the PC storage
  5. Copy the desired backup files or the “.sbf” backup file you want to restore
  6. Transfer the files on the phone storage
  7. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray
  8. You can safely disconnect the device from the USB port
