Sync iPhone Contacts via iTunes:

NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer with an active Internet connection, you can sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account, and then sync the account data, including contacts, with the LG U.

  1. Open iTunes on the computer
  2. Connect the iPhone to the PC using the Lightning cable
  3. Click the iPhone in iTunes and access “Info”
  4. Turn on “Sync Contacts With”
  5. From the drop-down menu, select “Google Contacts” and sign in with your Google account. (NOTE: alternatively you can click “Configure” and select an existing account)
  6. Click “Apply” to begin the sync
  7. Once the sync is done, register the same account used in iTunes on the LG U, and allow the account to sync contacts with your Android phone

Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:

NOTE: In case your iPhone contacts have been backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet, and export the contacts in vCard format for Android use.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Head down to https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account
  4. Access “Contacts” and select the contacts you want to share
  5. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
  6. Wait for the vCard to be downloaded and follow one of these steps:
    • Use the Internet browser on the PC to import the vCard to “Google Contacts”, or:
    • Connect the LG U to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage and import it using “Contacts”

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: Although the methods above require a computer connected to the Internet, alternatively you can transfer your iPhone contacts using third party apps. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up iPhone contacts in vCard format and share contacts via email.

  1. Open the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on the iPhone
  2. Launch the app and tap “Backup” to create a backup file containing your contacts
  3. Tap “Email” and make sure the vCard backup file is attached
  4. Send the email and attachment to your own address
  5. Switch to the LG U, open the email and download the vCard attachment
  6. Use “Contacts” to import the vCard to your phonebook

Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Another third party app you can use is Send Anywhere, available on iOS and Android. The app uses a p2p connection to transfer contacts and other types of files cross-platform, without needing a computer.

  1. Open the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Install the app on the LG U from the Google Play Store
  3. Launch the app on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
  5. Select the contact you want to share and tap “Send”
  6. Lastly, choose a transfer method. For example you can tap “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone and scan the code with the LG U’s camera, or tap “Receive” on the LG device. Follow the on-screen prompt to complete the process
