Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the LG U to your computer via USB
  2. Turn on “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media device (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
  4. Copy the desired files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” and / or “Notification” directories
  5. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Change the Ringtone for All Calls:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to the “Sound & Notification” tab
  3. Tap “Ringtone”
  4. Select the ringtone you want to use and tap “OK”

Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

NOTE: Custom contact ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the phone’s internal memory or the SIM Card.

  1. Launch “Contacts”
  2. Select the desired contact and tap “Edit”
  3. Tap “Ringtone”
  4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK” to confirm

Change Email Notification Alert Settings:

  1. Open “Email”
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
  3. Tap your “email” account
  4. Scroll to “Notification Settings”
  5. Clear or check the “Notifications” check box
  6. Tap “Notification sound” and select the desired audio file
  7. Tap “OK” to confirm

Change Emergency Alert Settings:

  1. Launch “Messaging”
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
  3. Under “General”, tap “More”
  4. Tap “Emergency alerts” and clear or check the boxes next to “Imminent extreme alert”, “Imminent severe alert” and / or “AMBER alert”

NOTE: Presidential alerts are enabled by default and cannot be disabled.
