Back Up Application Data:
- Launch Settings
- Go to the General tab
- Tap Backup & reset
- Turn on Back up my data
Back Up Contacts:
- Launch Settings
- Go to the General tab
- Tap Backup & reset > LG Backup
- Tap Backup & restore
- Tap Back up data and ensure LG Cloud is turned on
- If prompted, sign in with your LG account
- Select Personal data and deselect the other options
- Expand Personal data and ensure Contacts is checked
- Tap Start. Once the process is complete, tap Done
Back Up Contacts on the SD Card:
- Launch Settings
- Access the General tab
- Tap Backup & reset > LG Backup
- Tap Backup & restore
- Tap Back up data and turn on SD Card
- Choose the items you want to back up and tap Start
- Once the backup is complete, tap Done
Back Up Media Files on the Phone:
- Open Settings
- Go to the General tab
- Tap Backup & reset > LG Backup
- Tap Backup & restore
- Select Media data and deselect the non-media options
- Expand Media data and select the media files you want to back up
- Tap Start
- Once the process is complete, tap Done
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Connect the LG U to your computer via USB
- Turn on Media Sync (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) when prompted or from the notification area
- On the computer, open the File Explorer
- Use the Explorer to locate to the desired media backup files or .sbf backup file on the phone storage
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer storage
- Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
