Turn On Battery Saving Mode:
- Open Settings
- Go to the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management and tap Battery & power saving
- Enable Power Saving and turn the desired power saving options ON or OFF
- Lastly, you can select a battery percentage at which the mode enables automatically
Disable Smart Settings Unused at Home:
- Go to Settings
- Access the General tab
- Scroll to Smart functions and tap Smart settings
- Set the switch OFF
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: By disabling the phones connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Access Settings
- Go to the Networks tab and scroll to Connectivity
- Tap Tethering > Mobile Hotspot
- Set the Hotspot toggle OFF
- Go back to Settings and tap the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switches OFF
- Access the General tab and scroll to Personal
- Tap Location (GPS) > Mode > Battery saving (networks only)
Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:
NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open Settings
- Go to the Networks tab and scroll to Connectivity
- Tap More > Mobile networks
- Tap Network mode
- Enable GSM only
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By changing your accounts / apps sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Go to Settings and access the General tab
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Accounts & sync
- Turn Auto-sync data Off
- Scroll to Accounts and select an account / app to change its sync settings
Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Launch Settings
- Access the Display tab
- Scroll to Basic settings
- Tap Brightness and drag the slider towards the left side of the screen
- Tap Screen timeout and select a lower value
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes even when not in use, and thus they can potentially affect battery life even when not in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Go to Settings
- If necessary, access the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management and access Apps
- Go to Downloaded
- Tap and hold the desired app
- To disable the app, tap Disable / Force Stop
- To remove the app, tap Uninstall to confirm
Disable Background Data:
- Launch Settings
- Access the Networks tab if necessary
- Tap Mobile data > Menu
- Turn Restrict background data ON
- Tap OK
