How-to: LG G6: Transfer Audio Files from a PC and Set Custom Ringtones & Notifications

Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

1. Connect the LG G6 to your computer via USB
2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
4. Locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
5. Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Notifications” / “Ringtones” folder(s)
6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Change the General Ringtone:

1. Open “Settings”
2. If necessary, switch to “list view”
3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound”
4. Under “Sound”, tap “Ringtone”
5. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”

Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned for contacts located on the device’s on-board memory or the SIM card.

1. Open the “Essentials” folder
2. Launch “Contacts”
3. Select the desired contact
4. Tap “Edit” > “More” > “Ringtone”
5. Select the desired ringtone
6. Tap “OK” to confirm

Change Incoming Email Alerts:

1. Open “Email”
2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
3. Scroll to “Accounts & Sync”
4. Tap the “email” account
5. Under “Notifications”, enable “New Emails”
6. Tap “Notification sound” to select a ringtone
7. Optionally, enable or disable “Vibrate”

Change Emergency Alert Settings:

1. Open “Messaging”
2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
3. Tap “More” under “Advanced settings”
4. Tap “Emergency alerts”
5. Under “Receive alerts”, select to disable “Imminent extreme alerts”, “Imminent sever alerts” and/or “AMBER alerts”
6. Under “Sound and vibration”, tap to enable or disable “Alert sound” and “Alert vibration”
