Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If an app crashes, freezes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing it by clearing the app’s cache and/or data.

WARNING! When clearing an app’s data, all of your data stored within the app will be deleted, including user profiles, login information, custom settings etc. To avoid losing personal data, clear ONLY the app cache.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “General”
  3. Go to “Apps” and select the desired app
  4. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  5. If clearing the app cache didn’t fix the issues, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (check the WARNING above)

Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: if your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you want to factory reset it, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition instead. This can have results similar to a factory reset without losing personal data from the phone storage.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Phone Management” and tap “Storage”
  3. Tap “Internal storage”
  4. Wait for the phone to finish calculating the data
  5. When ready, tap “Cache data” > “Clear”

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t solve the issues, you can visit this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the phone instead.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: If one of your third-party apps causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
  2. In the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. At the “Reboot to Safe Mode” prompt, tap “OK”
  4. Wait for the device to finish rebooting. Once done, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
  5. To uninstall an app, open “Settings” and then go to “Apps”
  6. Switch to “All apps” if necessary and select the desired app
  7. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  8. Once done, exit Safe Mode by rebooting your phone normally
