Not really anything about how to change it in the manual. "CTRL" + "ALT" + "+" doesn't increase it either. I really need to change this thing to at least 800x600, right now I'm stuck with 640x480 and most menus don't look good in 640x480.

There's a configuration file in your /etc/ directory. I don't recall exactly what it's called but I think that if you look into it, you can figure it out. Just edit the file with pico or emacs and you should be able to alter the resolution of your screen. If you can't find it, post up or send the contents of your /etc dir and I should be able to figure it out. Otherwise, it's fairly simple. It's about 1/3 of the way down the file and fairly hard to miss."

What Distribution/Version are you using? Mandrake 9.1, RedHat 9.0, etc?
Most distributions have a series of configuration applications (Mandrake Config, Linux Config, Drake).
These apps keep you from having to edit manually some times.[.home] [.faq] [.search] [.active] [.chat] [.hitrax]

Also take note that you also have to restart the X server before the changes take effect. You usually have to log off to do this.

A quick shortcut to restart X, is just press CTRL + ALT + Backspace.
And to change your resolution run the command "Xconfigurator" and follow the instructions.

yes, you have to edit your x86 config file, not very difficult at all. Try googling for simple questions like that.
