I was wondering how to program the razr and change the internal settings. With my lg vx9800, i can press the middle button(which brings up the menu) and then press 0. and i punch in 0000000 for the service code and i can change the settings. How can i do this with the verizon razr?

    Re: Programming the razr

    Found this on a newsgroup:

Here's the full procedure for disabling EVDO on the RAZR V3c:

To get into the service menu, make sure you're in the Home Screen.

    1. From there, dial #073887* (do this quickly)

    2. You'll be asked for a security code. It's '000000' [six zeroes]

    3. In the Menu that appears select "Test Mode" and 'Enable'

    4. Reboot the phone. When it powers back up "FTS" should appear at the
top. If it doesn't, then hit the Left soft key and the Menu button
(center button on the D pad) simultaneously.

    5. Hit NEXT, NEXT, NEXT (right soft key 3 times)

    6. On the menu screen that appears, scroll down to the "HDR Pref"
setting, and select it to change to "cdma". The phone will freeze up
for about 10 seconds or so, and it may take you to a different screen.
If it does, hit the right soft key 3 times again, and scroll down to
"HDR Hybr." Select it to change this setting to "off." The phone will
freeze again for 10 seconds or so.

When it finally quits stalling, you can hit "exit."

    7. Exit test mode by pressing CLR and then the left soft key.

    8. Repeat steps 1 to 3, except on step 3, select Test Mode -> 'Disable'

    9. Reboot the phone. You should be done.

In my experience, occasionally you might have to go through this process
a second time, as sometimes the settings don't "stick." But your phone
reboots and stays in 1x mode, you should be all set.

Incidentally, the rumor is that on the original release firmware of the
V3c, disabling EVDO also happened to enable tethering capability, which
I heard was quite useful if you had the VCast pack on your account.
Just be aware, but if you happen to use this feature, know that it's at
your own risk and don't blame me if VZW raises hell with you about it.

By the way if ever you want to re-enable EVDO, repeat all of the above
steps, except change step 6 to read as follows:

    6. On the menu screen that appears, scroll down to the "HDR Pref"
setting, and select it to change to "auto". The phone will freeze up
for about 10 seconds or so, and it may take you to a different screen.
If it does, hit the right soft key 3 times again, and scroll down to
"HDR Hybr." Select it to change this setting to "on." The phone will
freeze again for 10 seconds or so.
