    Hi-

I am new here. I searched all the threads and still can't figure this out..

I want to be able to connect my Motorola V220 to my pc via Usb cable. I am using the usb cable from my sony digital camera.. Any rate...

I just downloaded the latest version of mobile phone tools 3.11. Intalled the program and all went well...

I then plug in my phone and it claims its installing it. After about 2 minutes, the phone pops up inthe right corner of my desktop but says initializing and never does anything...

All I want to be do is transfer pictures from my pc for wallpaper... Thats all?

Is there a site that is USA based that allows you to upload pictures and send them to your phone? And if so are any free? All I need is to get my phone bill and see that I transfered pictures to my phone here next to me thru Japan or some foreign country...LOL...

Thanks for your help and links...

    Spankey

P.S. I also tried mobiledit and that too just sits and does not acknowledge my phone? Do I need drivers for the phone to work?

    Thanks gain

Spankey, I am having the same problem with the phone saying "initializing" but doesn't do anything. How did you correct this?

Try Mobiledit. It should work and connect the phone. It supports some 200 phones now so has drivers to communicate with many.

I figured out how to use Mobile Phone Tools:

First of all make sure you have never hooked up the phone to the computer using the USB cable before you install these programs. (if you did, my tips might not work, but try anyway)

1st, go to this website and download this driver:
    http://www.bvrp.com/Customers/Motorola/DriverTool.zip

2nd, install the driver that you just dowloaded

3rd. find a copy of Mobile Phone Tools, i found a free one somewhere, but sorry cant remember where i got it from.

    4. install the Mobile Phone Tools

    5. open Mobile Phone tools, then click on USB and then click next

    6. plug in the USB to the phone first, then to the pc

    7. now it should work fine. just follow the instructions afterwards

You have a much better chance of this working if you have not plug the phone in before installing these programs. Goodluck

honestly, i would say nevermind the MPT and just get a USB bluetooth adapter. a lot easier to use, just plug in, and have the computer find your phone and copy and paste the songs, pics or whatever you want to transfer using the software with the bluetooth adapter which run about $15 on ebay or so.

thats how i get all my songs and pics. and i think its a lot easier than hasseling with MPT

You can get the monthly plans wherein you will have to pay a standard monthly bill. The monthly plans will work best for businessmen or the very busy individuals who often use their phones.
