Hi, sorry if this is a dumb question. I have no idea how to change my mp3s into ringtones. All the ROKR comes with is a bunch of gay polyphonics. I've read the manual and tried everything but can't figure out how to do this. I paid for the music so hopefully there is a way to make the songs ringtones. Thanks for any help.

are gay polyphonics the same thing as straight polyphonics? i think i would leave the gay polyphonics alone unless they messed with you first

advice: when asking for help in a public forum, try not to insult anyone. you never know when the person you've insulted could be the only one available to answer your question. using 'gay' as a derogatory adjective is RUDE.

hope someone else can help you, I'm late for work.

    Haha, PWNED!!!

I won't write it all out for you here, Teke, but you can read the directions at this link: http://www.freeringers.net/members/mp3mp3.php

And, like Brad stated, derogatory comments will more often than not make people not want to help you. It just so happens that I am in somewhat of a helpful mood right now, but I would hope that you refrain from using that word to describe things in the future...

Judging from your response you are either:

    a: a homosexual
    or
b: someone who contributed to the making of the polyphonics currently on my phone.

Let me apologize for offending you Brad. I am truly sorry if I offended you. The thing is though, sometimes people talk or think in different ways such as yourself. When I said the polyhonics were "gay", I meant it as they were "not cool"; or to dumb that down "not to my liking". In no way did I mean to say that the polyphonics copulate each other in recreational park bathrooms.

Sorry, had to put in some sarcasm before my response. Listen man, lighten up. Me calling crappy polyphonics are gay in no way demeans homosexuals. It is the way I talk. And honestly, I respect homosexual's rights as well. That is why I support gay marriage amendments. One of my good friends is gay. So before you go flaming someone you don't know, try to lighten up next time. You never know if you could be insulting someone who could possibly hold the vote that allows you to marry for the first time in your life...

Oh and if you just made the polyphonics and are not gay then disregard the above message.

P.S. Thanks MotoMadMan, but the link doesn't work for me.

    friend,

you just DEFINED gay as "not cool" and then inferred that (all) gay people "copulate each other in recreational park bathrooms". then you go on about how you support gay rights and respect gay people and all that crap?

who said i want to get married? my partner and i have been happy together for 6 years and don't need any stupid rings on our fingers to prove it. besides, over half of all heterosexual marriages now end within a year, so why would i want my successfully partnered gay friends to improve YOUR statistics?

Using the word GAY as a derogatory term is demeaning to gay people in itself and it is no different from some stupid racist using the n* word to refer to any unusually-colored cadillac they ever see. As a gay person who grew up in a racist and homophobic family and later became disowned by half of them and treated like half a person by the other half, I know the kind of things someone who DOESNT KNOW THEY ARE A BIGOT tend to say. So please check yourself before you can really call yourself the friend of a gay person, you need to understand what it's like to grow up gay in a world that either hates on us or otherwise treats us like crap and uses the very word "gay" to refer to anything they don't like.

hey, i'll lighten up when people like you quit teaching their children that being gay is "not cool". why do you think the suicide rate of gay teenagers if 5 times higher than straight kids? could it have something to do with being raised to think that being gay was a bad thing and not being able to cope with the fear that society would reject them as a person because their parents rejected gay people as a part of "normal" society?

my apologies to all the other forum viewers who had to waste their time reading this crap. i don't think of myself as being pro-gay rights, because of the way I grew up I hated other gay people (even as a gay person myself) throughout high school. I think of myself as pro-human rights, and every human being on the face of this earth deserves the same respect and dignity as any other person, and that's why I don't go around using racial or sexually oriented slurs to refer to illegal activities in public parks etc, and also why i feel obligated to defend human rights when i see them being violated.

one of the mods will probably delete this post anyway, but for those who think like this poor misguided fellow i am responding to here, i hope that reading this thread has SOMEHOW inspired someone to get some professional help for their irrational fear of being uncomfortable with their own sexuality.

I'm the poor misguided fellow huh? If you knew me you might think twice about that. Everyone I know happens to consider me one of the nicest most caring people they''ve ever met. Like I said before, people use slang, everone is not raised the same as you. Maybe since my mother was such a nurturing parent it has allowed me to be more sympathetic to my fellow man. I think it is people like you who cause bigotry and racism in the first place. You're trying to conform everyone to yourself when, in the real world, no one gets it that way. Be it straight, gay, black, Asian, whatever. Quit crying about some stupid word I used to describe a ringtone and get a backbone. It's like the Chapelle Show. Have you ever seen the 1st episode? If not you should, it'll blow your mind how many bad things a black guy could say about his own people (not to mention many other people).

Furthermore, my gay friend and I get along well. I call him all kinds of names, he calls me names too. Mostly, we laugh our asses off at each other. You have to start seeing the world that way if you want to have any sort of fun. Or you could continue being the unhappy jerk that you are for the rest of your life. No matter to me. Anyways, where was I before my post was highjacked?

    Here, try this one. http://www.freeringers.net/members/?...4cc9a0204640ff

You will have to register an account before you can do anything on that site, but there is a lot of good information about how to make your own mp3 ringtones.

OMG...some1 needs to be banned here. How can you have a gay friend/support gay rights, yet come across so insensitive and abrasive towards them? uhhh...I know how.... it's called letting words leave your mouth before you allow your brain time to process them.

learn your lesson, and move on/take this experience in stride. If you want to talk back or make some other vain and fruitless attempt at defending your apparent views on gaydom., it's off to the mods with this thread, and your forthcoming future status at CPF.
