If I were to follow the instructions on this site and download MPT for my Motorola RAZR V3C from Verizon, would that void out the warranty because I would be "hacking" into my phone? Or is the MPT and the other things that I would have to download for it to work legitimate programs that won't void out my warranty? I would just want to be able to take songs, shrink them, and put them on my phone.

It will not void your phone's warranty, because you are not actually doing anything to your phone. You are simply "tricking" the MPT software into recognizing your phone and allowing you access to the multimedia folders.

Long story short, I can assure you that it is quite legal and you will not incur the wrath of the Verizon Warranty Nazis.
