Unlocking Product Red Razr to AT&T?

Hey Everyone! I'm new here so don't hurt me. I'm kinda new to the whole cell-phone unlocking game, but I wanted to see if anyone can help me get a killer gift for my lady this Christmas.

So, she is in need of a new cell phone/provider. She is with Sprint, but wants to try something different. The main reasons are that no one else she knows has Sprint. Almost everyone has AT&T and she is on her phone with these people a lot. It would be nice to also be on AT&T and not be charged for these minutes. The major problem though is that her heart is with the Product Red Razr. She loves the color and loves the whole Red campaign. She really wants to put that money toward a good cause and spread some awareness with the new phone.

All that build up brings us to the million-dollar questions...is there anyway to get the Red Razr over to AT&T? My research has led to conflicting information. I've found pages that look to sell "unlocked" Product Red Razr's that will work on AT&T (as well as other networks). However, I've also read that the most recent Red Razr's are V3m and are CDMA phones that apparently shouldn't work on AT&T networks because they can only work with GSM phones. Also, there appears to be V3 (not m) Red Razr's for sale in Australia and Singapore that are GSM capable. So...I'm confused. I don't know the difference between CDMA and GSM and other acronyms I really feel that I could get screwed here, so I would love any enlightenment you can all share with me.

Thanks for the info. That seems to confirm what I was thinking. I can't just get a red colored phone though. She wants The Red phone.
