rokr z6m texting issues

Hey guys,

I recently ported my # from Verizon to Alltel (terrible idea) and have been having issues sending and receiving texts from my friends on the verizon network (pix messages go thru fine though). It works fine texting people on other networks, especially alltel which doesnt help my case. Ive been to the store 5 times, spent countless hours talking to mindless tech support peons (who tell me to just power my phone off and on every day and such) and have gotten a new phone sent to me all to no avail. Im currently waiting on a "trouble ticket" filed with the engineers to be resolved and them to contact me back. I have read that this is actually Verizon's fault as somehow during the port, they still recognize my phone to be on their network somehow. Can anyone confirm this, or know if they will help me at all if i call verizon since im no longer a customer? Any help or advice would be most appreciated as it is getting quite annoying. Thanks!

Wow, texting problems on rokr Z6m are not new, there are other people that already been through 3 rokr in a week dealing with same problem that you are having "texting problem". I think it is software or bugs due to the phone is motorola first year "slider" style. I was thinking about getting Z6m cause it has 2 meg cam and all those razr2v9 techny but I was advised to hold off for longer till the rokr proves itself in six months of usage....seem to be having problems not only you! sorry, wish could help.

Sorry to hear that you've been having problems. I've had similar problems with texting in the past and went through the pains and aches of dealing with tech support. I had a trouble ticket issued and it only took about a week to resolve my issue. I'm not sure if it's really a phone problem. I had an E815 awhile back that worked fine when I got it and after a few months the texting wasn't working very much the same way yours isn't working. I've got the Rokr Z6m now and I've had zero trouble with it.

so did they actually contact you after you put in the trouble ticket? or did you just have to keep calling and hassling them?

They never contacted me about my trouble ticket. The times I did call them, they didn't seem to have much information about it. And then one day, it just started working.
