Hello everyone, I just bought a Motorola W385 and I'm wondering how to select new audio files and use them as ringtones, since it doesnt give the option in the audio media menu
My friend has an older V361 and can do it by selecting APPLY AS RINGTONE in his media directory
I've been reading about P2K applications and modding the cellphone since apparently Motorola doesn't let you use your own ringtones anymore? can anyone give me more information on that
If it's actually possible to add a ringtone i'd appreciate if you give me step by step instructions (I have a USB connector cable (from the V361), and I can also get ringtones via Bluetooth)
thanks

btw, when I plug it with the USB cable, the Motorola Software doesn't even detect the phone, and the phone gives me a IMPOSSIBLE CHARGE message

Don't blame Motorola. That phone does allow custom ringtones. It's more likely your carrier (Verizon, maybe?) who has limited the functions the phone manufacturer puts in.
If your carrier does allow adding ring tones on our own (as opposed to buying them from their web site), try following the procedures at the site in my signature. Your phone doesn't take a memory card, so you'll need either a bluetooth adaptor or Motorola Phone Tools to make the connection to a PC. A USB cable alone is not enough.
