Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Moto G4 to your computer via USB
  2. At the prompt, enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” on the phone, otherwise enable the option from the “Notification” area
  3. On the computer, open the File Explorer
  4. Use the Explorer to locate the audio files on your computer
  5. Copy the desired files and transfer them on the phone storage in the “Media” folder, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” / “Alarms” directories
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray
  7. You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Change the Ringtone:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Under “Device”, tap “Sound & notification”
  4. Tap “Phone ringtone” and
  5. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”
  6. Optionally, you can enable or disable “Also vibrate for calls”

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Under "Device", tap “Sound & notification”
  3. Tap “Default notification ringtone”
  4. Select a notification sound and tap “OK” to confirm

Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned for contacts located on the SIM card or the device’s internal storage.

  1. Launch “Contacts”
  2. Select the desired contact
  3. Tap “Edit”
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Set ringtone”
  5. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”
