Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Personal
- Tap Backup & Reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open Settings
- Go to Accounts
- Select an account type
- Tap the desired account
- Ensure Contacts is checked then tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts can be automatically restored the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data, and contacts, with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the computer
- Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage in the folders of origin
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
