Enable Battery Optimization:

  1. Swipe up on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Battery optimization”
  4. Select an app to optimize it
  5. Additionally, you can tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Launch “Settings”
  4. Go to “Display” > “Advanced”
  5. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value

Disable Connectivity When Unused:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” and “GPS (Location)” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Tap and hold the Wi-Fi option and tap the toggle to disable the feature
  4. Open “Settings” for more options and access “Network & Internet”
  5. Tap “Hotspot & Tethering” and select “Wi-Fi Hotspot”
  6. Tap the toggle to disable the option

Uninstall Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Third-party apps can perform regular background processes and this can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. To remove third-party apps:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps & Notifications”
  3. Switch to “See all apps” if necessary
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can potentially improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the home screen up from the bottom
  2. Tap “Settings”
  3. Access “System”
  4. Tap “System update” > “Check for update”
  5. If new updates are available, follow the prompts to download and install them
