Clear App Cache or Data:
NOTE: If one of your apps doesnt work as intended or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING! When clearing an apps data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including login details, settings, save files etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.
- Swipe up on the home screen from the bottom
- Open Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- If necessary, switch to All apps and select the desired app
- Tap Storage > Clear cache
- If clearing the app cache didnt solve the issues, tap Clear data
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset the Phone:
NOTE: Before factory resetting the device, ensure youve backed up all of your personal data.
- Open Settings
- Go to System > Reset options
- To reset network settings, tap Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth
- Tap Reset settings two times to confirm
- To clear app settings, access Reset app preferences and tap Reset apps
- To factory reset the device, tap Erase all data (factory reset) > Reset phone then tap Erase everything
Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:
NOTE: If a third-party app causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default. To access Safe Mode:
- Press and hold the Power key
- Tap and hold Power off in the power management pop-up
- After the phone reboots, you should see a Safe Mode watermark on the home screen
- To uninstall apps, open Settings and go to Apps & Notifications
- Ensure you view All apps
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit Safe Mode, reboot your phone normally by pressing and holding Power and tapping Restart
