It seems like everyone I know owns a nextel, and since my contract with T-Mobile just ended I was thinking about making the switch. It just struck me odd at how poor the batterys are. I know they have extended batteries or whatever. Cmon, tho - their phone with the longest battery life is the i860 which has a talk time of 2.75 hours and a standy of 65. Looking at the razr v3 which was released around the same time it has a standby of 6.67 and a standby of 250.

I wonder why it seems like nextel isn't really keeping up with cell phone technology....

v3 works at 900MHz and NEXTEL radios work at 800MHz... the lower the freq., the more juice you need to transmit. Same holds true in Ham Radio.
