i just recently bought a i730 from nextel. i was told it was a good phone. it seems like its decent, the reception and stuff is great. I do not know how to send text messages, under messages it doesnt say compose or anything... could it be possible that i need to sign up for messaging? all it says is Voicemail, net alert, and SMS. i dont know how to send messages...

also the flip on the phone is wiggiling and it is making me nervous. i keep thinkin that the flip will just fly off and break. Will this happen, or not? i only had the phone for about 1 day.

I also need to learn how to make my own ringtones(real music tones, not polyphonic). i also cant access the internet, it says the menu and options will be deliverd within 48-72 hours. is this normal?

I also have the option of buying an i90c or a i95 with nextel(used condition) here is the link:

should i stick with this or go to one of the other 2 listed above... please tell me these things, thx 4 the help

I can attest to this as well. Went to Vegas in April of 2004 for the Nat'l. Assn. of Broadcasters convention and saw this phone before it was released. I asked how tough the flip was and the factory rep took out a claw hammer and beat the hinge to death with it. Granted it was only a 12 ounce hammer, it would be more force than you probably would ever exude on it by opening it with your chin, hands, leg, etc. Same thing was done to an i830 as well.
