How-to: Microsoft Lumia 650: Create and Manage Contacts & Caller Groups

Create a Contact:

1. On the Start screen, tap “People”
2. Access “Contacts”
3. Tap “+” and, if necessary, select an account
4. Enter the contact’s phone number, name, and other details in the appropriate fields
5. Tap “Save” to store the contact

Create a Contact via Call History:

1. On the Start screen, tap “Phone”
2. Access “History”
3. Tap the contact icon associated with the phone number you want to add to your phonebook
4. Tap “Save” > “+”
5. Enter the contact’s phone number, name, and other details in the appropriate fields
6. Select the account you want to use for syncing the contact
7. Tap “Save”

Create a Contact from a Message:

1. On the Start screen, tap “Messaging”
2. Select the conversation thread exchanged between you and the phone number you want to add to phonebook
3. Tap “Save” > “+”
4. In the appropriate fields, enter the contact’s name and other details
5. Tap “Save” when ready

Import Contacts from the SIM Card:

1. On the Start screen, tap “People”
2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
3. Tap “Import from SIM”
4. If necessary, select an account
5. To import all contacts, tap “Next” > “Import”
6. To import contacts individually, tap “Clear” and select the check boxes associated with the contacts you want to import

Link / Unlink Contacts:

1. Tap “People” on the Start screen
2. Go to “Contacts”
3. Select the desired contact and tap the “Link” icon
4. Tap “Select a contact to link” and tap the desired contact
5. To unlink contacts, tap a linked contact and tap the “Link” icon
6. Next, select the contact to unlink from and tap “Unlink”

Create a New Caller Group:

1. Tap “People” on the Start screen
2. Go to “Groups”
3. Tap “+” and enter a name for the group
4. Tap “Save” > “Edit”
5. Tap “+ Add member”
6. Select a contact to proceed
7. To add multiple contacts, check the boxes associated with their names and tap “Done”

Add Contacts to an Existing Caller Group:

1. Launch “People”
2. Access the “Groups” tab
3. Select the desired group
4. Tap “Edit” > “+ Add member”
5. Select the contact you want to add to the group

Remove a Contact from a Group:

1. Launch “People”
2. Go to “Groups”
3. Select the desired group
4. Tap “Edit” and select the desired contact
5. Tap “Remove from group”

Rename a Caller Group:

1. Tap “People” on the Start screen
2. Access “Groups” and select the desired group
3. Tap “Edit” and enter the desired name for the group
4. Tap “Done”

Delete a Caller Group:

1. Open “People”
2. Access “Groups”
3. Select the desired group
4. Tap “Menu” > “Delete”
