I recently got a data cable for my 6015i, i hooked up the phone and everythign works fine. I had a few midi files that I transfered to the phone however only about half of them worked. The day before I had just uploaded the exact same files to my nokia 3155i and all of them worked. The only difference is ofcourse i had to use a different size cable.
I cant really see any difference between the midi files that do work, and the files that dont, some of the largest files,a nd the longest files work while the shorter ones do not. they are all mid files (.mid ending) however some work and some don't. When I try to access the files I recieve an "unable to open file" message. Thanks for any help...

I think it's the amount of chords the phone uses to play them - I have a 16 chord phone (Nokia 3200) and a 40 chord phone (Sony ericsson K300i). The K300i is able to play them, whereas the 3200 can't. Just try searching for different ringtones.

Yeah, how many chords the phone can play at once effects the sound, and about the unable to open error, you need to convert midis to SP-Midi for some Nokias for them to play, This can be done with the Ringtone program in PC Suite.

So that's what the SP-midi format is! I was getting confused in noticing any difference. As we're on the subject of ringtones, I feel the need to ask how Nokia and similar phone brands encode "vibration-beat" into their tones - is it possible to do this yourself?
