Hey Everyone, I'm new here, but I need some help. I just bought an unlocked Nokia 6101 off ebay to use with my SIM card from Cingular Blue (Old ATT wireless). I got the phone in a T-Mobile pre-paid package, which is no problem, becuase the phone was unlocked and even though it says T-Mobile, I put my Cingular SIM card in and it works fine. The only problem is that I can't get wireless internet access. With my previous phone (a Motorola V600), I used ATT's M-Mode to get movie times, weather, download ringtones, etc. So I definitely have a subscription to wireless internet through the service provider, but because this phone was originally intended for T-Mobile, the only wireless internet software it has is called "t-zones," and anytime I try to access wireless internet throuh that, it says "no connection available, subscribe to GPRS first."
Can anybody give me some advice on how to get access to M-Mode or Cingular's current internet service? I feel like if I take my new phone which is branded with the T-Mobile logo into my local cingular store, they probably won't help me. Thank you!

I think I might be out of luck. Because the phone was manufactured for T-Mobile, t-zones is the only application for web access. When I try to do the online configuration tool for Cingular, I recieve the correct settings, but I can't get online because I subscribe to mmode, not media-net. When I try to do the online configuration settings for ATT, I enter my phone number, but they still assume I'm using my old motorola because I did not buy my current phone through them. The Nokia 6101/6102 is supported by Cingular, but not ATT. So even when I type in my number for the ATT configuration tool, my phone is not on the list of supported devices. I think I either need to find a way to get the mmode application on my phone, or move over to cingular so I can subscribe to medianet Thank you for the help though.

    MMode Configuration Settings and Info

    Howdy there REPP55,

Go here for configuration info for mMode.

    http://forums.cingular.com/cng/board...essage.id=1022

You can also login to the Cingular Online Tech Support chat for GPRS - Data service technical questions. From the main Cingular forum menu, or here...

    http://forums.cingular.com/cng/chat?chat.id=tschat

You can ask more questions there live, if the settings you find on the first URL, do not help you log into mMode.

    Thanks BlkBear1,

I went to the live chat you suggested. It turns out I can't use Cingular or AT&T's data features with an unlocked T-Mobile phone, but atleast I got my question answered. Thank you for your help.
