I have the Nokia 6315i. I get this error with bitpim when ever I try to save anything to my pc from the /brew folder.

"accress to the file/directory has been blocked on this phone by the phone provider"

I know a work around for this must exist, because I can save mp3's there using verizon's vcast software. However, it that will only let me upload/delete mp3's. What I am trying to do is upload custom ringtones, save pictures from my camera phone, etc. Does anyone know what I can do about this. Thanks in advance.

P.S. My phone carrier is Verizon Wireless.

Verizon recently replaced my cell phone because picture taking failed. They upgraded my LG VX8300 Software Version from T83VZV03 to T83VZV04. After the upgrade I have the blocked problem and could not download pictures via Bitpim. I did find a work around, albeit awkward, but I'm not sure if it will work universally. It seems the blocking takes a finite time to kick in and if you work fast, you can download about three (3) pictures at a time. The trick is to restart bitpim and move fast. I still need to see if this will work with phone directory changes. Good Luck

About a year ago my wife and I purchased two LG VX8300 I was able to access the directory structure on mine with bitpim and add ringtones but was NOT able to access the directory structure on my wife's phone. Even though we purchased the phones at the same time her phone had a later revision of the firmware. I am assuming the manufacturer or the provider has a way of disabling access to the directory structure via the USB port. Last week I upgraded to an LG env3 and the verizon store transferred all my contacts to the new phone wirelessly (via their CDMA or EVDO network) in the past they would use a cable. It may be be better in the future to purchase as unlocked phone retail with none of the features disabled (but you will pay a high price for this).
