Just to add....
a more stablished connection via USb port will be at the back USB port of your CPU (that is of course if you are using a desktop computer with ports in front)
You can also update the software of your phone "over the air"
[over the air : means your service provider will send the update to your phone]
there are cases that your service provider will block / restrict you in doing the software update eventhough you can see in a Nokia website that there is an available software update.
how to do it?
Simple.
Type in *#0000# on your phone and it will give you information regarding your phone.
Model number, the running version of the software on your phone, the software date etc.
Do this to check if the available software update on your phone will be an upgrade for there are instances that the software which is currently installed in your phone will have the same version as it is with the avaialable update most especially if the phone that your have will have the most recent [/U] product code.
hope you guys find this helpful.

Re: Update your phones firmware yourself
Updating software can sometimes improve the phone performance.
In the past, software updates have solved problems of phone hangs, no vibration, phone resets, etc.
