Nokia 6230b problems in Europe

I have a Nokia 6230b with a Vodafone "pay as you go" which only seems to work in the larger European cities (Munich, Vienna Innsbruck etc). The moment you move outside the city limits into the country, the phone looses signal completely. Any suggestions why and can it be fixed?

The 6230b is the NA versions with 850/1800/1900 frequency. Since Europe uses 900 & 1800, you are not getting reception where 900 is being used.

Sorry but nothing you can do to change that.
