Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device” and tap “Battery”
  3. Tap “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. From the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings” for more options
  4. Go to “Display” and optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
  5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Location” “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Launch “Settings”
  4. Access “Location” for GPS options
  5. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
  6. Return to “Settings” and tap “More’ under “Wireless & Networks”
  7. Turn Off “Tethering & mobile hotspot”

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Access “Mobile networks”
  4. Tap “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You can disable or remove unused third-party apps to potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings” and go to “Apps”
  2. If necessary, switch to “Downloaded” or “All apps”
  3. Select the desired app
  4. To turn the app off, tap “Disable” / “Force Stop”
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type
  4. Tap the desired account
  5. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life so it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates”
  4. Check if new updates are available
  5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update
