Clear App Data/Cache:
NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING: by clearing an apps data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including save files, login data, settings etc. will be deleted. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Open Settings and go to Apps & Notifications
- Ensure you view All apps and select the desired app
- Tap Storage > Clear cache
- If clearing the app cache didnt solve the issues, tap Clear data (check the Warning above)
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:
NOTE: Ensure youve backed up all of your data from the phone before factory resetting the device, or you will lose your data.
- Open Settings
- Go to System and tap Reset options
- To reset app settings, tap Reset app preferences > reset apps
- To reset network settings, tap Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth and tap Reset settings two times
- To factory reset the phone, tap Erase all data (Factory Reset) > Reset Phone
- Tap Erase Everything to confirm
Uninstall Apps in Safe Mode:
NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode. In this mode, all of your third-party apps are disabled by default.
- Press and hold Power
- In the Power Management pop-up, tap and hold Power off
- Once the phone finishes rebooting, a Safe Mode watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
- To remove an app, open Settings and access Apps & Notifications
- Ensure you view All apps and select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit Safe Mode, press and hold Power and reboot your phone normally
