Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
  3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your backup account
  4. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when you reinstall apps or sign in with the backup account

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Make sure the “Contacts” check box is ticked
  5. Then tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: You can restore contacts automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data and contacts with the phone.

Back Up Media Files on a PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the UB port

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media backup files on the PC
  4. Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
  5. After the transfer completes, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
