Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open Settings
- Go to Battery
- Tap menu
- Enable Battery saver
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Launch Settings for additional options and access Display
- Optionally, turn Adaptive brightness ON or OFF
- Tap Sleep and select a lower timeout value
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can turn the phones connectivity features Off when they are not actively in use, in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Tap the Wi-Fi Bluetooth and Location (GPS) quick toggles to disable the features
- Open Settings for more options
- Tap Location for GPS settings, tap mode and select Battery saving
- Return to Settings and expand Wireless & Networks
- Go to Tethering & Portable hotspot
- Turn the features Off
Temporarily Switch to 2G:
NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a way of recharging it, you can conserve energy by temporarily switching to 2G.
- Open Settings
- Expand Wireless & Networks
- Access Mobile networks > Preferred network type
- Enable 2G
Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phones battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you might potentially improve battery life in the long run.
- Launch Settings
- Access Apps
- Switch to All apps if needed, then select the desired app
- Tap Disable / Force Stop to turn the app off
- To remove the app, tap Uninstall
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: You might improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.
- Open Settings
- Access Accounts
- Select an account type
- Select the desired account and change the available settings to reduce sync as desired
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can potentially improve battery life and its recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.
- Launch Settings
- Go to About phone and tap System updates
- Check if new updates are available
- If applicable, follow the prompts to download and apply the update
