Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Battery”
  3. Tap “menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Launch “Settings” for additional options and access “Display”
  4. Optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  5. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when they are not actively in use, in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS) quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Open “Settings” for more options
  4. Tap “Location” for GPS settings, tap “mode” and select “Battery saving”
  5. Return to “Settings” and expand “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Go to “Tethering & Portable hotspot”
  7. Turn the features Off

Temporarily Switch to 2G:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a way of recharging it, you can conserve energy by temporarily switching to 2G.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Expand “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Access “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
  4. Enable “2G”

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you might potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “Apps’
  3. Switch to “All apps” if needed, then select the desired app
  4. Tap “Disable” / “Force Stop” to turn the app off
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You might improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type
  4. Select the desired account and change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can potentially improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “About phone” and tap “System updates”
  3. Check if new updates are available
  4. If applicable, follow the prompts to download and apply the update
