Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Launch “Settings” and go to “Personal”
  2. Tap “Backup & Reset”
  3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
  4. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type
  4. Tap the desired account
  5. Ensure the “Contacts” check box is ticked
  6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you log in with your backup account or by manually syncing the account data, and contacts, with the Android phone.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File explorer on the computer
  4. Navigate to the media files on the phone storage
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the PC
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
