I'm definitely a newbie, so forgive me if this post is inappropriate! I'm looking for a "Funky Town" tone to DL into my 6010. I'd happily pay T-Mobile, but they don't seem to offer this title. I searched and got a hit in this forum, but the system won't let me see the attached file since I have less than 10 posts. Can anyone help?

    Thanks, Bill

I don't have it, but I just wanted to add that it needs to be polyphonic and able to be downloaded from the phones WAP browser for anyone that DOES have it.

I found a decent MP3 file which is supposed to be polyphonic, although it's 183 KB, Hidden Content . Is there a simple "how to" telling me how to get this into the phone? Hidden Content

Since, it is saved as a MP3 file, you can't use it. But once you find a .mid or .midi, just go to that site via your phones browser, I used to have the 6010 but I can't remember exactly how to do it...

The midi file is online and ready to download when I figure out how to do this. FWIW, I am a retired computer programmer who has no problem finding my way around a PC. BUT, the Nokia 6010 manual says to download the ringtone file to your phone using SMS, WAP, & MMS, with no further explanation. This means nothing to me, but maybe it will after I get all the way through the manual. If not by then, I'll google these acronyms! Hidden Content

Well, I'll tell you right now that SMS means Text Messaging and MMS means multimedia messaging, so that won't help you probably. But WAP means internet on your phone and all you have to do is go onto the internet with your phone, enter the site where the .mid/.midi is and download it from there.

Thanks, but my post count is below 10 so the system won't let me download. If that isn't enough, I finally figured out how to download music to my phone, but my phone won't let me since I'm not on a monthly plan. I'm not sure what you call it, but I paid $100 for 1,150 minutes, then I have no further bills until I use up the minutes and buy more. This type of plan does not allow downloads. Hidden Content

Didn't work, now it tells me I have 8 posts but need 10. How about just sending it to my E-mail address: bill(at)aa4m(dot)com. BTW - I did find one fairly good funkytown.mid file: Hidden Content

Hopefully it's not the same file you're trying to send me.

    Thanks!

OK, here's another post, should be my #10 . . . and that worked, I downloaded the file. BTW, listen to the midi file in my above post, it's a nice one, although much larger than the one you just gave me Twin! Thanks . . .
