Re: Computer to Phone
After Googling, Sprint forums with no replys, and many Days on the net, I have come to the conclusion that about all I'm going to be able to do with the Data cable is up-load pictures to and from phone to computer and vise versa.
I thought I was going to be able to create and upload Ring tone to the phone from the computer , already made My Voice Tones, I hate music tones.
The Voice tones I made starts with a classic phone ringing, then the Voice says ,Bobby calling from home, I have made up enough to cover all My contacts.
And now I don't think I will be able to use the cable to upload them to the phone. Because of no software for the i850.
Going to have to rack My pea brain on the net trying to see if there is another way without bankrupting Myself.
For what I paid for the i850 you would think there would be software to do ring tones ,I noticed cheaper phones have software that will let you do all kinds of things.
If anybody finds software for the i850 let Me know Please

Re: Computer to Phone
What version of motorola phone tools are you using? I was able to plug the cord right into my USB port and the tools detected my phone and Iwas able to go into the multimedia center and upload any .mp3. You need to make sure your voice recordings are in .mp3 format. I will help you out as we go. Give me a shout. Hidden Content Hidden Content

Re: Computer to Phone
Unfortunately, many carriers block certain functions that the phone manufacturer puts in. Your i850 is capable of adding custom ringtones in MIDI, WAV or MP3 format, but I'm not sure if Sprint allows you to do that on your own.
If MPT doesn't recognize your phone, you may be out of luck, as it doesn't offer bluetooth or take a memory card, so there will be no other way to connect to a PC.
MPT can be fussy if you don't follow the installation instructions to the letter. Try right clicking on My Computer, choose Properties, then Hardware, then Device Manager, Under the Modem heading, if there is anything in there that says Motorola, right click and choose Uninstall. Reboot, run the MPT live update, and then start MPT again. You might have to reinstall MPT, but make sure that any reference to it in Device Manager is removed first
