Re: midi tones
I know of a site called FunMo.com. This is my favorite site to download ringtones. I am not sure whether you can convert mp3 to midi ring tones, but you can add some crazy sounds to your ringtone and you can evan make your own ring tones.

Re: midi tones
People have been trying to accurately convert from audio to midi for years and years. They're getting better at it, but it still pretty much blows.
I've got a little app somewhere that does it but there will be wrong notes and wierd pauses and such. I'll look for it and get it up here in an hour or so. You'd make a butload of money if you can figure how do it!

Re: midi tones
Yeah...I was checking into this about a year back. Somebody made a really witty comment about it, too.
"Making an MP3 from a midi is like making sausage from a pig. It's easy if you follow the well-known process. Making a midi from an MP3 is like making a pig from sausage. It's easier just to start from scratch."
