3. Unzip the downloaded galaxynote2root.zip -> double-click the .exe file to open the ODIN program.
4. You should then see a yellow highlighted box at the left top corner of the screen with a random number in it. In case you dont see this COM box, double-click the Samsung USB drivers youve downloaded previously, and unplug and plug your Note 2 to your computer again.
5. Now in the ODIN program, click the PDA button -> locate the cwm6-root-note2.tar -> press the Start key on your keyboard and let the ODIN flash the CWM Recovery.
6. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will reboot once its done.
7. Your phone should be successfully rooted.
Notes:- Your smartphone will boot into the CWM recovery automatically once -> after that it will install Superuser app and then will reboot.
- On the Home screen of your Note 2 you should find a new app called SuperSU.
- If during the ODIN flashing you received an error on the screen saying Kies Firmware Error Encountered, dont worry! Youll be able to run ODIN in that mode again. And its recommended that you use a different USB port and check the Samsung Kies is not running at the same time with ODIN, as it can interfere with the flashing process.
