Transferring Files
Transferring Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Using the USB cable, connect your smartphone to your computer
- Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
- On your computer, an AutoPlay window should appear. Click to "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Open a new Windows Explorer window and navigate to where the files are stored on your PC
- Copy the desired audio file and paste them on your phone's storage
- Once the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone
Transferring Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
- Make sure you have Kies installed on your Mac. If not, then visit SAMSUNG KIES and click "Download for Mac OS". Follow the on-screen instructions to install Kies
- Connect your smartphone to your Mac using the USB cable
- Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device", followed by "Media device"
- Open Kies on your Mac computer
- Inside Kies, click the folder icon associated with either "Internal Memory" or "External Memory". Then, navigate to the location where you want to add the audio files
- On your Mac, navigate to where the audio files are located
- Drag the files and drop them into Kies
- After the files have been copied, safely disconnect your smartphone
Managing the Audio Files
Adding Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- From any of the home screens, press "Menu"
- Tap "Settings"
- Swipe to the "My device" tab
- Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones" > "Add"
- Select either "Choose music track" or "Sound picker"
- Choose "Just once" or "Always"
- Select the desired audio file and tap "OK"
Adding Audio Files to the Notification List:
- Tap the "All Apps" icon located on the home screen
- Tap "My files" > "All files"
- Navigate to where the desired audio files are located
- Tap and hold a file and select "Copy"
- Tap "Device storage", open the "Notifications" folder and tap "Paste here"
Setting Custom Ringtones and Notifiations
Changing the Ringtone for All Calls:
- Press the "Menu" button while viewing a home screen
- Tap "Settings" and go to the "My device" tab
- Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones"
- Select the desired ringtone and tap "OK"
Assigning a Custom Ringtone to a Contact:
- While viewing a home screen, tap "Contacts"
- Select the desired contact
- Press the "Edit" button depicting a pencil
- Tap "Ringtone" and select the audio file that you wish to assign
- Tap "OK" > "Save"
Changing the Notifications Sound:
- Press the "Menu" button while viewing the home screen
- Tap "Settings" and swipe to the "My device" tab
- Tap "Sound" > "Notifications"
- Select the desired audio file and tap "OK"
