Audio File Transfer

Transferring Audio Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Use the USB cable to connect your smartphone to your computer
  2. On the handset, drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device". Then, tap "Media device (MTP)"
  3. From the AutoPlay window on your PC, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  4. Open a new Windows Explorer window and locate the desired audio files stored on your HDD
  5. Copy the desired files and paste them on your phone's storage
  6. After the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone from your PC

Transferring Audio Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. On your Mac, visit SAMSUNG KIES
  2. Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen prompts to install Kies on your computer
  3. Establish a connection between your smartphone and computer via USB
  4. On your smartphone, drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
  5. Launch Kies on your Mac
  6. From Kies, click the "Folder" icon associated with either "Internal Memory" or "External Memory", and navigate to where you want to add the audio files
  7. Open a new window on your Mac, and navigate to where the files are stored
  8. Drag the desired files, and drop them in Kies
  9. Once the transfer is over, you can disconnect your smartphone

Managing the Ringtone List

Adding Custom Ringtones to the Ringtone Menu:

  1. Press the "Menu" key while viewing a home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" and access the "My device" tab
  3. Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones" > "Add"
  4. Select either "Sound picker" or "Choose music track"
  5. Tap "Always" or "Just now"
  6. Select the desired audio files and tap "OK"

Adding Custom Notification Sounds to the Notification List:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon from the home screen
  2. Tap "All files" > "My files"
  3. Locate the desired audio files stored on your device
  4. Tap and hold a file and select "Copy"
  5. Tap "Device storage" and open the "Notification" folder
  6. Select "Paste here"

Setting Custom Ringtones and Sounds

Changing the Ringtone for All Calls:

  1. Press the "Menu" button while viewing a home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Go to "My device" and tap "Sound"
  4. Touch "Ringtones", select the desired audio file and tap "OK"

Changing the Ringtone for One Specific Contact:

NOTE: you are not permitted to set custom ringtones to contacts stored on the phone's internal storage or the SIM card.

  1. Tap the "Contacts" icon located on the home screen
  2. Select the contact that you want to assign a ringtone to
  3. Tap "Edit" > "Ringtone"
  4. Select the ringtone that you want to set, and tap "OK"
  5. Press "Save" to confirm the changes

Setting a Custom Notification Sound:

  1. From any of the home screens, press "Menu"
  2. Tap "Settings" and go to "My device"
  3. Tap "Sound" > "Notifications"
  4. Select the desired notification sound and press "OK"
