Restoring Applications:

  1. Log in with the Google account used to back up your apps, if necessary
  2. Press the "Menu" button while on a home screen
  3. Tap "Settings"
  4. Access the "Accounts" tab
  5. Tap "Google" and tap "Sync all"
  6. Press the "Back" button
  7. Tap "Backup and reset"
  8. Check / clear the check boxes next to "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore"

Restoring Contacts from a Samsung or Google Account:

  1. Press the "Menu" button while viewing a home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" and go to "Accounts"
  3. Select "Google" or "Samsung", depending on the type of contact you've used for the backup
  4. Tap the "email address" at the top of the screen
  5. Mark the "Sync contacts" check box. If it's already checked, tap "Sync now"

Restoring Contacts from the SD Card:

  1. Tap the "Contacts" icon located on the home screen
  2. Go to the "Contacts" tab
  3. Press "Menu" > "Import / Export"
  4. Select "Import from SD card" and choose an account
  5. Tap "Import vCard file" > "OK"
  6. Select the vCard file that you've backed up, and tap "OK" to confirm

Restoring Media Files from Your SD Card:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
  2. Select "My Files"
  3. Tap "All files" > "SD card"
  4. Navigate to where the media files are stored
  5. Tap and hold a file that you wish to restore, and tap "Move"
  6. The smartphone will now show the available memory locations. To move the files in a different location, tap the folder name or tap "Create new"
  7. Tap "Move here"

Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a connection between your phone and computer via USB
  2. Drag the "status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the "Media device" check box
  3. In the AutoPlay window on your computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  4. Open a new Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up files on your PC's HDD
  5. Copy the files, and paste them on your phone's storage. (NOTE: the card icon represents the SD card, whereas the phone icon is the phone's internal storage)
  6. Once the files have been transferred, safely disconnect your smartphone

Restoring Media Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. Use the USB cable to connect your smartphone to your computer
  2. Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
  3. Tap the "Media device" check box
  4. Launch Kies on your computer
  5. Click the "Back up / restore" tab and click "Restore"
  6. Click the check boxes next to "Music", "Photos" or any other file types. To restore all files, click the "Select all items" check box
  7. Click "Restore" and follow any additional prompts if necessary
  8. Once the process finishes, you can disconnect your smartphone
