Restoring Applications:
- Sign in with your Google account, if necessary
- While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" key
- Tap "Settings"
- Access the "Accounts" tab
- Tap "Google" > "Sync all"
- Press the "Back" key
- Tap "Backup and reset"
- Check / uncheck the boxes next to "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore"
Restoring Contacts:
Restoring Contacts from a Google or Samsung Account:
- Press the "Menu" key while on the home screen
- Tap "Settings" and access the "Accounts" tab
- Select either "Google" or "Samsung", depending on the type of account used for the backup
- Tap the "email address" at the top of the screen
- Mark the check box next to "Sync contacts". If the box is already ticked, tap "Sync now"
Restoring Contacts from the SD Card:
- Ensure that the SD card containing the backup file is installed
- Launch the "Contacts" application
- Press "Menu" and tap "Import / Export"
- Tap "Import from SD card"
- Select the account you want to use for restoring the contacts
- Tap "Import vCard file" > "Ok"
- Select the vCard file containing the backed up contacts and tap "OK"
Restoring Media Files & Pictures
Restoring Media Files from the SD Card:
- Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
- Tap "My Files" > "All files" > "SD card"
- Navigate to where the media files are stored on the SD card
- Tap and hold the file that you wish to restore
- Tap "Move"
- The smartphone will automatically display the available memory locations. To move the files to a different location, tap "Create new" or tap the folder name
- Tap "Move here"
Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Establish a connection between the Galaxy Beam 2 and computer via USB
- Swipe the "Status" bar down on the smartphone
- Tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the "Media device" check box
- From the AutoPlay window on the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Open a second Windows Explorer window, and navigate to where the desired media files are backed up on your computer's HDD
- Copy the files, and paste them on your phone's storage. NOTE: the "Card" icon represents the smartphone's external storage. The "Phone" icon is the internal memory
- Once the files have been copied, safely disconnect your smartphone from the computer
Restoring Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Connect your Galaxy Beam 2 to your Mac using the USB cable
- Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
- If necessary, mark the "Media device" check box
- Launch Samsung Kies on the Mac
- From the Kies main menu, click the "Back up / restore" tab
- Go to the "Restore" tab
- Mark the "Music", "Photo" check boxes, and those associated with the types of files that you wish to restore. Optionally, mark the "Select all items" check box
- Click "Restore" and follow any additional prompts if necessary
- Once the process is complete, safely disconnect your Beam 2 from the Mac computer
