Checking the Amount of SD Card Storage:
- Press "Menu" while viewing a home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- From the "More" tab, press "Storage"
- You can view the "Available space" value right under "SD card"
Formatting the SD Card:
WARNING! If you format the SD Card, all data stored on it will be deleted. Before proceeding, create backups if necessary
- While on a home screen, press "Menu"
- Tap "Settings"
- Under "More", tap "Storage"
- Under "SD card", tap "Format SD card"
- Touch "Format SD card" again to confirm
Opening or Deleting Files on the SD Card
Using the Smartphone:
- Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
- Launch "My Files" and tap "All files"
- Tap "SD memory card"
- Tap a folder to open it
- To delete a file or a folder, mark the check box next to it and tap the "Trash can" icon
- Press "OK"
Using a Windows Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between the Galaxy Ace and PC
- On the handset, drag the "Status" bar down
- Tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device"
- Click "Open folder to view files" on the computer
- Locate the desired files stored on the SD card
- Delete or open the files
- Once done, click the "Removable mass storage device" icon from the system tray and safely disconnect your smartphone
Using a Mac Computer:
NOTE: The first 3 steps should be skipped if Samsung Kies is installed on your Mac
- Launch the Internet browser on the Mac and visit Kies
- On the page, click "Download for Mac OS"
- Follow any additional on-screen steps to finish installing Kies on the Mac
- Connect the Ace NXT to the Mac via USB
- On the phone, drag the "Status" bar down
- Tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the "Media device" check box
- Open Kies on the Mac
- From Kies, click the "Folder" icon next to "External memory"
- Vie or delete the files as you desire. When you're ready, eject the Galaxy Ace NXT drive from the desktop and safely disconnect your smartphone
Transferring Files On / From the SD Card
Transferring Files from the Internal Storage:
- From the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Launch "My Files" and go to "All files"
- Tap "Device storage"
- Locate the files you wish to move to the SD card and mark their check boxes
- Tap the "Menu" icon and select to "Copy" or "Move" the files
- Tap "SD memory card" and open the location where the files should be transferred
- Once there, tap "Paste here" or "Move here"
Transferring Files from the SD to the Internal Memory:
- Open the "My Files" app and go to "All files"
- Tap "SD memory card"
- Locate the files you wish to transfer and mark the check boxes associated with them
- Press "Menu" and choose to "Copy" or "Move" the files
- Tap "Device storage" and navigate to where the files need to be transferred
- Tap "Move here" or "Paste here"
Transferring Files Between a Windows Machine and SD:
- Connect your smartphone to the PC via USB
- Drag the "Status" bar down
- Tap "USB Connected" > "Connect USB storage"
- On the computer, click to browse the phone's files and folders from the AutoPlay window
- Locate the desired files stored on the SD, and transfer them on the PC (or the other way around)
Transferring Files from a Mac to the SD Card:
- Establish a connection between your handset and Mac via USB
- Swipe the "Notification" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
- Launch Kies on the Mac and click the "External Memory" folder icon
- Drag the items you wish to transfer from the Mac into Kies
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the Ace NXT's drive and safely disconnect your device from the Mac
