Clear App Cache:

NOTE: If some of your apps don't work correctly or your phone runs out of internal storage, you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the app cache. To do so:

  1. Press "Menu" on the home screen
  2. Access the "Settings" menu
  3. Tap the "More" tab and go to "Application manager"
  4. Swipe to "All" or "Downloaded"
  5. Select the desired app and tap "Clear cache"

NOTE: if clearing the cache did not help solving the issues with your app, you can try clearing the app's data instead. To do so, tap "Clear data" > "OK" to confirm

WARNING! Clearing an app's data will result in the deletion of all personal information stored within the app, including high scores, profiles, credit card information and so on.

Clear the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone doesn't work as intended and you are considering applying a factory reset, you may be able to fix these issues by clearing the phone's cache partition. This can have the same effect as a factory reset, without the deletion of personal data stored on the internal memory.

  1. Turn off the smartphone
  2. Press and hold "Home", "Power" and "Volume Up" at the same time
  3. Once the phone vibrates, release the "Power" button but continue holding the other two
  4. When you see the "Android System Recovery" screen, release all hardware keys
  5. Use "Volume Down" in the recovery menu to navigate to and highlight "Wipe cache partition"
  6. Press "Power" to select the highlighted option
  7. After the cache partition is wiped, highlight "Reboot system now" and press "Power"
  8. Your phone should now reboot with a clear cache

Reboot in Safe Mode:

NOTE: If you've installed a third party app that causes issues on your phone and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to dispose of it from Safe Mode. When you reboot your phone in safe mode all third party apps are disabled.

  1. Turn off the smartphone
  2. Press and hold the "Power" button
  3. When you see the "Samsung" splash screen, release "Power" and immediately press and hold "Volume down"
  4. Release the volume button after the phone finishes rebooting. You should see a "Safe Mode" lavel in the lower-left area of the display
  5. To remove the app, first go to the phone's "Settings" menu
  6. Tap "More" > "Application manager"
  7. Access the "Downloaded" screen
  8. Tap the desired application and tap "Uninstall"
  9. Tap "OK"
  10. To exit safe mode, press "Power" > "Restart"
