Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the smartphone to your computer via USB
- If necessary, drag the status bar down, tap Connected as a media device and enable Media device (MTP)
- In the AutoPlay window on the computer, double-click Open device to view files using Windows Explorer
- Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the desired audio files on your computer
- Copy the files, and transfer them in the first Explorer window on your phone storage
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray and safely disconnect it from the PC
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac
- Open the Internet browser on your Mac
- Visit Kies
- Click Download for Mac OS and follow the on-screen instructions to install Kies on the Mac
- Connect the Samsung device to the Mac via USB
- If necessary, enable Media device (MTP) from the status area
- On the Mac, launch Kies
- Inside Kies, click the Music folder under your phones name, or click the Folder icon next to Internal memory or External memory and navigate to where you want to add the music files
- On the computer, locate the desired audio files, then drag and drop them in Kies
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging its virtual drive in the Trash can, and safely disconnect it from the USB
Add Sound Files to the Ringtone List:
- Go to the phones Settings menu
- Under My device, tap Sound
- Tap Ringtones > Add
- Tap Sound picker or Choose music track, then select Just once or Always
- Select the audio files you want to use as ringtones and tap OK
Add Sound Files to the Notification List:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open My Files
- Tap All files and navigate to the audio files you just transferred
- Tap and hold the desired files and select Copy
- Tap Device storage and open the Notifications directory
- Tap Paste here
Change the Phone Ringtone:
- Go to Settings
- Under the My device tab, tap Sound
- Tap Ringtones
- Select the desired ringtone and tap OK
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Contacts stored on the SIM or the phone memory cannot have custom ringtones
- Tap Contacts on the home screen
- Select the desired contact
- Tap the Edit icon shaped like a pencil
- Tap Ringtone and select the desired ringtone
- Tap OK > Save
Change the Notifications Sound:
- Press Menu on the home screen
- Tap Settings
- Under the My device tab, tap Sound
- Tap Notifications
- Select the desired notification sound and tap OK to confirm
