Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: In case one of your apps doesnt work as intended or simply takes up too much space, you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the apps cache / data.
WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all personal information saved within the app will be removed, including credit card and login information, saved games, profiles, high scores etc. As such you should first try clearing the apps cache first.
- One the home screen, tap Apps
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Applications and tap Application manager
- Swipe to Downloaded or All
- Select the desired application
- Tap Clear cache
- If clearing the cache didnt help, tap Clear data > OK
Wipe Cache Partition:
NOTE: If your phone doesnt work as intended and youre considering master resetting it, you should try clearing the cache partition first. Doing so can solve similar issues as a factory reset, without losing any of your personal data stored on the phones internal memory. To wipe the cache:
- Turn off the phone
- Press and hold Volume Up, Home and Power at the same time
- Once the phone turns on and shows Power, release all hardware buttons
- Roughly 30 seconds after the Android icon appears, your phone should boot in in Android System Recovery
- From the recovery menu, press Volume down to highlight wipe cache partition
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- Once the cache is wiped, Reboot system now will be highlighted
- Press Power to reboot your phone

Reboot in Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: In case you have installed a third party application that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, all third party applications are disabled. To reboot in Safe Mode:
- Turn off the phone
- Press and hold Power
- At the Samsung logo, release the Power button, and immediately press and hold Volume down instead
- Keep holding the volume key pressed until the phone finishes rebooting. Once done, a Safe mode label should be visible in the lower-left corner of the screen
- To remove an app, first go to Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Applications
- Tap Application manager
- Swipe to Downloaded and select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall twice to confirm
- To exit safe mode, simply press and hold Power and tap Restart
