Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Galaxy A5 to your computer via USB
- If necessary, drag the Status bar down and enable Media device (MTP)
- On the PC, launch an Explorer window and locate the desired audio files on the HDD
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the Ringtones and Notifications folders
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via the system tray, and safely disconnect the phone from the USB connector
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: In case Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps.
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac and visit Kies Support
- Click Kies 3 for Mac to download the Kies installer
- Open the downloaded .dmg file and install Kies on the Mac
- Connect the Galaxy A5 to your Mac via USB
- If necessary, enable Media device (MTP) from the notification area
- On the Mac, open Kies
- Within Kies, click the Folder icon associated with internal memory or External memory
- Open a file explorer on the Mac and navigate to the desired audio files on your drive
- Drag the files and drop them in Kies
- After the files have been transferred on the Galaxy A5, eject the phone storage by dragging its virtual drive into the trash can icon, and safely disconnect the device from the Mac
Change the General Ringtone:
- Tap Apps on the homescreen
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Sound and Display and tap Sounds and notifications
- Tap Ringtones and select the desired ringtone
- Tap OK
Change the Notification Sound:
- Access the Settings menu
- Tap Sounds and notifications under Sound and display
- Tap Notifications
- Select the desired notification sound and tap OK
