Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Galaxy J7 and PC
  2. On the home screen, drag the “Status” bar down
  3. Make sure “Media device (MTP)” is turned on
  4. On the computer, open the File Explorer
  5. Locate the audio files on your PC and copy them
  6. Transfer the files on the phone storage, in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” directories
  7. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray and disconnect the phone from the USB connector

Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:

NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps.

  1. On the Mac, launch the Internet browser
  2. Visit Kies Support
  3. Download “Kies 3 for Mac” and install Kies on the computer
  4. Connect the Galaxy J7 to your PC via USB
  5. On the phone’s home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down and make sure “Media Device (MTP)” is selected
  6. Open Kies on the Mac
  7. Inside Kies, click the “Folder” icon associated with “External memory” or “Internal memory”
  8. Launch the File Explorer on the Mac and locate the desired audio files
  9. Drag and drop the files inside Kies
  10. Wait for the transfer to end. Once done, drag the phone storage from the desktop into the “Trash can”, and disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Change the General Ringtone:

  1. Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Sounds and notifications”
  3. Under “Sound”, tap “Ringtones and sounds”
  4. Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
  5. Tap “Back” and the changes will be saved automatically

Change the Ringtone for a Specific Contact:

  1. Launch “Contacts”
  2. Select the contact you want to customize
  3. Tap “Edit” > “Ringtone”
  4. Select the desired ringtone
  5. Tap “OK” > “Save”

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sounds and notifications”
  3. Under “Sound”, tap “Ringtones and sound”
  4. Select the desired notification sound and tap “Back”
