Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: If one of your applications doesn’t work as intended, it crashes, freezes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the app’s cache / data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all personal data stored within the application will be lost. This includes profiles, high scores, saved games, settings, credit card and login details etc. You can avoid losing personal data by clearing only the application’s cache.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Under “Device”, tap “Applications”
  4. Go to “Application Manager”
  5. Swipe to “Downloaded” or “All”
  6. Select the desired application
  7. Tap “Clear cache”
  8. If necessary, tap “Clear data” > “OK” to confirm (Check the WARNING above)

Wiping the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering factory resetting it, you might want to try and solve these problems by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can have a similar result as a factory reset, but the process doesn’t remove any of your personal data on the phone’s internal memory.

  1. Turn of the phone, if necessary
  2. Press and hold “Power”, “Home” and “Volume Up” simultaneously
  3. At the “Samsung” logo, release “Power”
  4. When the “Android” logo appears, release the other two hardware buttons and wait to gain access to the System Recovery menu
  5. From the Recovery menu, press “Volume down” repeatedly to highlight “Wipe cache partition”
  6. Press “Power” to confirm and select the highlighted option
  7. When the cache partition is wiped, “Reboot system now” will be highlighted
  8. Press “Power” again to confirm and reboot your phone

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help solving the issues, you can visit this thread for instructions on how you can instead factory reset the Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime.

Reboot Into Safe Mode and Uninstall Applications:

NOTE: In case you have installed a problematic app on your phone which causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode all third party applications are disabled by default.

  1. First, turn off the phone if necessary
  2. Next, press and hold “Power”
  3. When the “Samsung” logo appears, release “Power” and quickly hold “Volume Down” instead
  4. Once the phone finishes rebooting, release “Volume Down”. A “Save Mode” label should be visible in the lower-left corner of the home screen
  5. Open the apps drawer and go to “Settings”
  6. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
  7. Tap “Application manager”
  8. Access the “Downloaded” tab
  9. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall”
  10. Tap “Uninstall” again to confirm and remove the app from the phone
  11. Once done, you can exit Safe Mode by pressing and holding “Power”, then tapping “Restart”
