Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: If one of your applications doesnt work as intended, it crashes, freezes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the apps cache / data.
WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all personal data stored within the application will be lost. This includes profiles, high scores, saved games, settings, credit card and login details etc. You can avoid losing personal data by clearing only the applications cache.
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- Under Device, tap Applications
- Go to Application Manager
- Swipe to Downloaded or All
- Select the desired application
- Tap Clear cache
- If necessary, tap Clear data > OK to confirm (Check the WARNING above)
Wiping the Cache Partition:
NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise doesnt work as intended and youre considering factory resetting it, you might want to try and solve these problems by clearing the phones cache partition. This can have a similar result as a factory reset, but the process doesnt remove any of your personal data on the phones internal memory.
- Turn of the phone, if necessary
- Press and hold Power, Home and Volume Up simultaneously
- At the Samsung logo, release Power
- When the Android logo appears, release the other two hardware buttons and wait to gain access to the System Recovery menu
- From the Recovery menu, press Volume down repeatedly to highlight Wipe cache partition
- Press Power to confirm and select the highlighted option
- When the cache partition is wiped, Reboot system now will be highlighted
- Press Power again to confirm and reboot your phone
NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didnt help solving the issues, you can visit this thread for instructions on how you can instead factory reset the Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime.
Reboot Into Safe Mode and Uninstall Applications:
NOTE: In case you have installed a problematic app on your phone which causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode all third party applications are disabled by default.
- First, turn off the phone if necessary
- Next, press and hold Power
- When the Samsung logo appears, release Power and quickly hold Volume Down instead
- Once the phone finishes rebooting, release Volume Down. A Save Mode label should be visible in the lower-left corner of the home screen
- Open the apps drawer and go to Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Applications
- Tap Application manager
- Access the Downloaded tab
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall
- Tap Uninstall again to confirm and remove the app from the phone
- Once done, you can exit Safe Mode by pressing and holding Power, then tapping Restart
