Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer on the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “System” and tap “Battery”
  4. Tap the “Power saving mode” switch to “ON”
  5. Tap “Start power saving” and select a battery percentage for the Power Saving mode to enable automatically

Turn On Ultra Power Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings” and scroll to “System”
  3. Tap “Battery”
  4. Turn on “Ultra power saving mode”
  5. Tap “Agree”
  6. To add apps on the Ultra power saving mode home screen, tap “+”

Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:

NOTE: By enabling Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Connections”
  3. Tap the switches associate with the connectivity features you wish to disable
  4. Make sure the switches are set to “OFF”

Switch to 2G Connectivity:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity. To do this:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Connections” and tap “More connection settings”
  4. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
  5. Select “GSM only”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
  3. Tap “Automatic brightness” and disable the option if necessary
  4. Drag the brightness slider to the left
  5. Tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower value, such as “15 seconds”

Disable Background Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Connections”
  3. Tap “Data usage” > “More”
  4. Tap “Restrict background data” > “OK” to confirm

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party applications on your phone can affect battery life even when unused, due to the fact that some apps perform regular background processes. As such, you might be able to improve battery life by removing or disabling unused third party apps.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Under “Device”, tap “Applications”
  4. Tap “Application manager” and swipe to “Downloaded”
  5. Select the desired app
  6. Tap “Turn off” / “Disable” to turn off the app
  7. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” two times

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings on your phone to sync less data / less often, you might be able to improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and tap the desired account
  4. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
  5. To apply the changes, tap “Menu” > “Sync now”
