Restore Contacts from an SD Card:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
  4. Go to “Contacts”
  5. Select to “Import / Export contacts”
  6. Choose “Import” > “SD Card”
  7. Select to import a single or multiple vCard files
  8. If necessary, select a vCard file you want to restore
  9. Lastly, choose to store contacts on “Device storage” or to sync them with “Google”

Restore Contacts from a Google Account:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “User and Backup”
  3. Tap “Accounts” > “Google”
  4. Tap your email address or username at the top of the screen
  5. Ensure “Contacts” is checked
  6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

Restore Media Files from an SD Card:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “My Files”
  3. Scroll to “Local storage” > “SD Card”
  4. Tap “More” > “Edit”
  5. Tick the boxes next to the media files you want to restore
  6. Tap “More” > “Move”
  7. Select “Device storage”
  8. Navigate to and select the desired target folder, or tap “Create folder”
  9. Tap “Move here” to confirm

Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Finder on the Mac and locate the media file backups on the Mac storage
  4. Copy and paste the backup files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder(s) they originate from
  5. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between your Samsung phone and computer
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open Kies on the Mac
  4. Access “Back up / restore” and go to the “Restore” tab
  5. Tick the boxes next to “Music”, “Photos” and other media file types you want to restore. Alternatively, click “Selct all”
  6. Click “Restore” and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
  7. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the trash can
  8. You can now safely disconnect the Samsung device form the USB port
