Restore Contacts from an SD Card:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Applications
- Go to Contacts
- Select to Import / Export contacts
- Choose Import > SD Card
- Select to import a single or multiple vCard files
- If necessary, select a vCard file you want to restore
- Lastly, choose to store contacts on Device storage or to sync them with Google
Restore Contacts from a Google Account:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to User and Backup
- Tap Accounts > Google
- Tap your email address or username at the top of the screen
- Ensure Contacts is checked
- Tap Menu > Sync now
Restore Media Files from an SD Card:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch My Files
- Scroll to Local storage > SD Card
- Tap More > Edit
- Tick the boxes next to the media files you want to restore
- Tap More > Move
- Select Device storage
- Navigate to and select the desired target folder, or tap Create folder
- Tap Move here to confirm
Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt from the Notification area
- Open the File Finder on the Mac and locate the media file backups on the Mac storage
- Copy and paste the backup files on the phone storage, preferably in the Media directory or the folder(s) they originate from
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between your Samsung phone and computer
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open Kies on the Mac
- Access Back up / restore and go to the Restore tab
- Tick the boxes next to Music, Photos and other media file types you want to restore. Alternatively, click Selct all
- Click Restore and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the phones virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the trash can
- You can now safely disconnect the Samsung device form the USB port
