Restore Contacts from an SD Card Backup:

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Tap “Menu” and access “Settings”
  3. If necessary, go to “Contacts to display” > “All contacts”
  4. Tap “Import / Export contacts”
  5. Go to “Import from SD card” and tap “OK” to confirm

Restore Media Files from SD Card:

  1. From the “Samsung” folder, open “My Files”
  2. Tap “SD Card” > “Menu” > “Edit”
  3. Navigate to, and mark the check boxes associated with the desired media files
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Move” > “Internal storage”
  5. Tap “Move here” or alternatively, tap the folder name or “Create folder” > “Move here” to restore the files to a different folder

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Samsung phone to your PC via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate and copy the media file backups
  5. Transfer the files back on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder or the directories they originate from
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open Kies on the Mac and access “Back up /restore”
  4. Go to the “Restore” tab and tick the check boxes associated with “Music”, “Photos” and other media file types you want to restore
  5. Click “Restore” to confirm and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
  6. Once done, eject the phone’s storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can”
  7. You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
