Restore Contacts from an SD Card Backup:
- Open Contacts
- Tap Menu and access Settings
- If necessary, go to Contacts to display > All contacts
- Tap Import / Export contacts
- Go to Import from SD card and tap OK to confirm
Restore Media Files from SD Card:
- From the Samsung folder, open My Files
- Tap SD Card > Menu > Edit
- Navigate to, and mark the check boxes associated with the desired media files
- Tap Menu > Move > Internal storage
- Tap Move here or alternatively, tap the folder name or Create folder > Move here to restore the files to a different folder
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung phone to your PC via USB
- Enable File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate and copy the media file backups
- Transfer the files back on the phone storage, preferably in the Media folder or the directories they originate from
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open Kies on the Mac and access Back up /restore
- Go to the Restore tab and tick the check boxes associated with Music, Photos and other media file types you want to restore
- Click Restore to confirm and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
- Once done, eject the phones storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the Trash can
- You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
